Cooperation
The BIG cooperates closely with international organizations to enhance the effectiveness of the global struggle against colonialism and neocolonialism. This cooperation plays a crucial role in building international solidarity at both political and civil society levels, facilitating the exchange of experience, and keeping these issues on the global agenda.
By working with the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Pacific Islands Forum and other international and regional organizations, BIG draws attention to the adverse impacts of colonialism and advances various initiatives aimed at addressing them.
Since its establishment, BIG has evolved into a reputable and influential international platform within the global decolonization movement. Over the past two years, the organization has hosted over 40 international conferences and high-level events at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Geneva, and Vienna, as well as in Rome, Istanbul, and Baku widely recognized as a key hub for decolonization dialogue.
Within the framework of cooperation with the sessions of the United Nations General Assembly, the Special Committee on Decolonization (C24), the Fourth Committee of the General Assembly (C4), the Permanent Forum on People of African Descent, the UN Human Rights Committee, and the UN Human Rights Council, the BIG has organized side events and contributed to substantive dialogue alongside intergovernmental discussions.
The BIG also actively cooperates with non-governmental organizations, human rights defenders, political parties, and think tanks operating in territories affected by colonialism, organizing joint events and supporting their initiatives.
