A conference titled "Decolonization: Awakening of Renaissance" was held in Istanbul, Turkey
On February 24, a conference titled "Decolonization: Awakening of Renaissance" was organized in Istanbul, Turkey. The event was attended by Abbas Abbasov, Executive Director of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), Carlisle Corbin, an international governance consultant and an independent expert for the UN Special Committee on Decolonization, as well as representatives of the Turkish government.
The conference continued with panel discussions dedicated to the topic "Effects of Colonization on National Identity." The discussions covered topics such as ethnic and cultural discrimination, political instability, repression, political history, social and economic challenges, the persecution of independent media, security issues, and their consequences for immigration, emigration, and diaspora communities.
In the second session, the artificial legal barriers created by the French government during decolonization in the Renaissance period were discussed. Key topics discussed in this session included border issues, security and self-defense, ownership of national resources, international recognition, citizenship issues, legislative and economic reforms.
